Sivananda Hatha Yoga

with Fred J. Marks

Open your heart and reveal the real You.

Your self-image, sense of higher energies,

well-being and compassion for the human condition within yourself and others will blossom like the lotus.

This is a total healing approach to Yoga. It balances out one’s mental, physical and spiritual condition.

Our physical body is meant to move and exercise. If our lifestyle does not provide natural motion of muscles and joints, then disease and great discomfort will ensue with time. Proper exercise should be pleasant to the practitioner while beneficial to the body.

Yoga means union. Although many people think this term refers to union between body and mind or body, mind and spirit, the traditional acceptance is union between the Jivatman and Paramatman that is between one’s individual consciousness and the Universal Consciousness.

Therefore Yoga refers to a certain state of consciousness as well as to methods that help one reach the goal or state of union with the divine.

Fred J. Marks is a qualified Yoga teacher from the Sivananda Yoga Dhanvanthari Ashram in Kerala, South India. He teaches all aspects of Hatha Yoga including proper breathing, diet, exercise, relaxation, positive thinking and meditation.

Fred J. has studied and practiced holistic methods and natural healing for over 30 years. Travelling the world he has experienced first hand various local cultures and traditions, which has given him a great insight into people from all walks of life. This gift is well applied when working with individual students in the Yoga class. He can easily assess a person’s strengths and weaknesses, physically and mentally. In this way he is able to adapt Yoga postures and principles to each student's needs. Each student will receive a high degree of personal attention in class, resulting in improved performance and stamina.
